Eyebrow Pencils: A Comparison

Today I'm going to review 3 eyebrow pencils. These are all from the drugstore.

My first pencil is from Maybelline and is the Maybelline Define-A-Brow. I do like this pencil but I find that the comb on the end is pointless. I like to use that for combing through my lashes but not eyebrows. I find this pencil in particular very similar to Macs Eyebrow pencils but personally I do prefer other drugstore pencils that I will be talking about next.

My next brow pencil is also from Maybelline. This is the Mastershape Brow Pencil. I really like this pencil for my brows and have re-purchased it several times. The crayon has a very waxy consistency and I like that as I think it looks more natural than a harsh pencil. I also like the brush on the end as it combs through my brows well making the pencil look more natural.

My third brow product from the drugstore is the Soap and Glory Brow Archery. I love this product. Not only does it have a pen side which is great for natural looking hairs but it also has a crayon side. I find this is a great product as it has two different options, both of which I use frequently. It is extremely cheap for a great item and I will definitely repurchase it.

Beauty Blender Review

Hey guys,
So for Christmas, I got a beauty blender which I had been wanting for some time so was very pleased. These are small egg-shaped sponges that you put in water and they swell up, then you use them to apply your foundation and concealer for a flawless look.

It is a very easy way to apply your makeup and I do think it looks great but I'm not sure that it is better than brushes because they can give you a flawless look too but it is a great makeup applicator.

As you can see by the photo, it swells a lot after placing it in water, the only downside is that then it feels very damp despite drying it. It also is overpriced to say it is really just a sponge, because I got it for Christmas, this was not an issue for me but I think that you really can purchase cheaper versions from places like walmart or drugstores.

Best Drugstore Finds under £12

Hey guys,

So today I thought I'd share my favourite makeup items available at the drugstore, I have a lot of favourite lip products so that will be in a different post.

Firstly, as for primers, I really like the Rimmel Fix and Perfect primers. I have repurchased this product many times as it is only £6.99 and you can buy it here.

I couldn't narrow down my favourite drugstore foundation so I decided I liked 2. As for lower coverage I would say Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, it has the consistency of a BB cream and I really like it. It only costs £10.99 and you  can buy it here. As for higher coverage I went for Rimmel London's Match Perfection foundation. This is a creamy, lightweight foundation with a great coverage. It retails at £6.99 and you can buy it here

My favourite drugstore concealer would have to be Collection Long Lasting Perfection concealer. I love this stuff so much and it is only £4.19. This is my all-round favourite concealer, not just from the drugstore. It is available here.

My favourite drugstore powder is no surprise. Its Rimmel's Stay Matte, everybody loves this stuff and it is only £3.99 and you can buy it here.

On to blushes, I would have to say the Bourjois blushes, I have two different colours and I really like them both. Some of hem are slightly shimmery but there are lots of colours available. They smell really nice and are only £7.99 and you can buy them here.

My favourite drugstore bronzer and its my favourite bronzer all together actually is the NYC Sunny Bronzer, it has a nice matte finish and is great for contouring as well as bronzing up the face for a sun-kissed look. It is just $2.99 and you can buy it here. I have also heard that it is a great dupe for Benefits Hoola bronzer.

My favourite eyeliners are the Rimmel eyeliners. I have three different ones, nude, black and white. I have heard they are great dupes of Urban Decay liners. They are only £3.99 and are available here.

Mascaras was an easy decision, I love the Maybelline Mascaras. They my ultimate favourites and I love all of them that I've tried. They are around £7.99 depending on the one you buy and you can purchase them here.

For brows I really like the Maybelline Master Shape brow pencil and Milani's Brow Fix kit. I also like to set them with Maybellines clear Great Lash mascara.

Wet N Wild eyeshadow palettes would have to be my favourites. They are very pigmented and extremely cheap. I got the Comfort Zone palette containing 8 shades for just £4.99, you can buy it here.

My favourite drugstore highlighter is Wet N Wilds Reserve your cabana highlighter and I find it isn't too pigmented but if I pat it on the cheekbones with a Real Techniques pointed foundation brush, it works well.

Finally, my favourite brushes are the Real Techniques brushes, I have bought the Blush Brush as well as the Eye kit, the core collection and the travel set.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturizer Review

Hey guys!
So a while ago in a haul post, I purchased the L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturizer and today as promised, I'm going to review it for you.

This moisturiser comes in a glass container. It does have a decent sized amount of moisturiser in it unlike some moisturisers which is great, it lasts a long time if you use just small amount each day. This moisturiser is quite thick and so you only need the smallest amount to cover your whole face and neck. It really does make your skin so soft. Which is a huge plus, it also helped the dry patches on my face a lot which was also great.

This moisturiser claims to:
  • Tighten the pores
  • Refine skin texture
  • Even and perfect skin tone
  • Improve visible skin quality
It does refine the skin texture and improve visible skin quality but as for tighten the pores and even the skin tone, I'm not so sure but to be honest, I buy a moisturiser to clear the dry patches on my face and keep my skin soft and healthy, not to tighten pores or correct the skin tone so this didn't really matter all that much to me.

It claims to be for ages 20-30 but I''m not in that age range and it still works great for me. Its suited at those ages because it says that "your skin isn't always perfect. Stress, fatigue and an unbalanced lifestyle can affect your skins quality." But to be perfectly honest, all of those things can be true for any age so I don't really think it matter what age you are.

It also claims that:

  • In one touch: Skin is hydrated, feels soft and smoother to a silky skin touch.
  • In one week: Pores look visibly tightened.
  • In one month: Skin is smoother, more even, as if perfected.
I do agree with these statements accept for the pores, I don't see any difference in my pores but that may just be me. I also wouldn't go as far as perfected because lets face it, no moisturiser can perfect your face.

I bought this for £14.99 from Tesco which is a reasonable price seeing as it lasted me months. I would definitely recommend this moisturiser especially for people with combination skin like me.
