July Favourites

Hey guys,
I've just realised that I haven't done a Favourites post in a really long time so I thought I'd do one today for you. I think my last favourites post was in March so I will leave that linked here.

Anyway, I've been trying out a lot of new products this month because I have been in my Florida home for most of it. I don't like to bring all of my beauty products out with me so I tend to do some shopping for new things to leave here.

1. Mac Face and Body Foundation
One thing that I have bought which I am really enjoying is the Mac Face and Body Foundation. I bought this is my Florida Mall Haul post and I have been using it alot during the summer. I don't like to wear much makeup in the Summer considering its 100 degrees outside so I like this really light coverage foundation. I will be doing a review on this soon so I'll talk about it some more then.

2. Burts Bees Lip Balms
I have also been really liking the Burts Bees Lip Balms. I have all of them except one I think and I really like them. I find them very hydrating to the lips and always have one on me. Again, I will review these soon so I won't talk too much about them now.

3. Sally Hansens Gel Polish in 'Blue My Mind'
Another July Favourite has been Sally Hansens Gel Nail Polish in 'Blue My Mind'. I really love the colour of this and I think its a very similar shade to Barry M's Gelly Polish in Blue Grape if anybody would like an alternative to gel polishes.

4. Toni and Guy's Shampoo for Fine Hair
As far as hair goes, this month I have been really enjoying Toni and Guy's Shampoo for Fine Hair. I have terribly fine hair and I have found that this does give me slightly more volume and thickness. I have tried other thickening shampoos but none have compared to this one by Toni and Guy.

5. Friends
I have been watching Friends such a lot this month. I have always loved it but when i'm in America I watch it every night.

6. Pretty Little Liars Season 5
If you don't watch Pretty Little Liars then you NEED to! It is such a great tv show and this season in particular. I would say that if you want to begin watching this show then you must start from season 1 though because there is such a lot happens in each episode that it would be extremely difficult to follow if you started at season 5.

7. 5 Seconds of Summers New Album
I am in love with this album. I listen to it so often and I think its great. I was fortunate to see them in Concert as the opening act to One Direction and they are also incredible live.

8. Kim Kardashian: Hollywood
I am so obsessed with this app! I was hesitant to get it because I thought it would be quite a pointless app but it really isn't. Its worth all the hype it gets and I would really recommend getting it. If you want to play with me then my games centre name is in my Whats on My iPhone post which I will link here.

MAC Painterly Paint Pot Review: Worth the Hype?

You'll have probably heard of the product I'm going to talk about today. This product is talked about a lot on youtube and on blogs and its the Mac Painterly Paint Pot.

What it claims:
'A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy and dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with MAC shadows and liners.'

This paint pot in particular is great as a base colour. Since it is long-lasting, I like to use it as my eyelid primer too under the rest of my shadows. However I use this most on its own. I have quite veiny eyelids and this colour cancels out the redness and covers the veins. It's the same colour as my skin so its great for a natural look.

You don't use much of this at once so it will last a long time as it does contain a lot of product. It retails at £15.50 in the UK and $20.00 in the US. This seems a lot for 5g of product but like I said, you use very little at a time. I purchased this on eBay because it was slightly cheaper than buying it at Mac so I would suggest looking elsewhere to see if you can purchase it for less.

To answer the question in the title, I do think this product is worth the hype and I'm glad I tried it out.

Highend vs Highstreet: Blush

Hi everyone,
So today its another highend vs hughstreet but this time its all about blushers. I don't own many blushers but these are a comparison of some of the more expensive ones to the cheaper ones.

For highend I have Benefits Thrrrob blush. This is a very pale pink with a slight shimmer, it looks very natural. You have to apply a generous amount to see a difference with your cheeks with this product which is something I don't love but it is good quality. I got this free with a mobile phone but if I had to pay for it, I probably wouldn't splurge for this.

Then there's my Stila blush. I've had this a long time so I'm not sure on the colour but I love it. The colour looks so dull but on it looks gorgeous. Its quite an orangey pink colour and looks quite natural. I would definitely repurchase this. Its one of my favourite makeup items overall.

As for highstreet, I love the blushers from Bourjois. For the price, they are extremely pigmented and are available in so many colours. I have a slightly darker one which I love in the winter and I more pink shimmery one for the summer months. I love these blushes and actually prefer them to my benefit one.

I would definitely recommend the blushers from Bourjois for those of you on a budget because they are of very high quality but if you want to splurge on a blush, I would go for one by Stila.

Lip Crayon Comparison

I have recently been loving lip crayons. I don't like wearing lipstick on an everyday basis, I prefer lip butters or balms so these crayons are perfect for me. They are very moisturising and not quite a lipstick.

I got two of Rimmel's Colour Rush's first as a present. I have the colours 100 (Give Me a Cuddle) and 120 (All you Need is Pink). I have done a full review on these which I will link here so go and look there for a more detailed review. Basically, these are very moisturising and the colour is very buildable but my favourite part about these is the smell. They smell so delicious.

Then for my birthday I got the other two lip crayons from two of my friends. First I'll talk about Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Bashful. This is such a great product. It is probably one of my favourite lip products and I really want to purchase some more of them. It is so moisturising and feels really light on your lips yet it is really glossy and gives a lot of colour. They are also really affordable compared to some lip crayons. You can buy them here.

Without Flash (From Left to Right: Rimmel Colour Rush in 100, Rimmel Colour Rush in
120, Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Bashful, Stila in Party Pink)
The final lip crayon is by Stila in the colour Party Pink. This is a very vivid, pigmented colour and is perfect for parties (like the name says). These crayons are a lot more pricey than other lip crayons as they are from Stila but they are of great quality. You can buy them here.

With Flash (From Left to Right: Rimmel Colour Rush in 100, Rimmel Colour Rush in
120, Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Bashful, Stila in Party Pink)
Overall I really like all of these crayons and would recommend all of them.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation Review

Recently as you'll have seen in my haul post, I bought the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation and as I said, I'm going to review it for you.

This foundation is very sheer and natural, just what I look for in a foundation. As you know I'm very fussy because I have combination skin and like a very natural finish whereby it won't appear that I'm wearing any foundation. I'd heard great things about this foundation and it sounded like something I'd love so I decided to try it out. I am so glad I did, I love this foundation.

This foundation is water-based and so you have to shake it before using it. I find that the best way to apply it is with your fingers. It is available in 9 shades and I would recommend asking the sales assistant to colour test you to allow you to get the perfect shade. I bought the shade B20 which matches me perfectly. It allows me to just apply it in the places I need it for a natural look and more for a dressy look. It is very buildable.

The packaging for this is very classy and looks like it doesn't hold much product but really it contains 30ml of foundation which is the average amount for drugstore and high-end foundations. The downside is that this costs £33.00 which is very expensive for makeup but in my opinion, it is definitely worth the money and I will continue to repurchase it over and over.

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

So on my recent shopping trip I purchased Benefits Gimme Brow. I've been wanting this for a while and I had enough Boots Advantage points to pick one up for free. As promised, I will review it for you today.

Benefits Gimme Brow is available in two shades: Light/medium and Medium/Deep so the colour range isn't huge which is a downside however the colour Light/medium is a good match for my brows.

What it claims:
This innovative brush-on fiber gel adheres to skin & hair…creating brows where before there were none. It builds easily for thick, lush arches, thanks to a tapered brush for blending & precision tip for shaping. Available in two shades.

INNOVATIVE BRUSH-ON FIBER GEL:
• Water resistant
• Long-wearing
• Natural-looking
• Buildable

Some people like to use a pencil and this to set their brows but personally I just use this. I think that it makes a very natural look but if you apply more layers then it can look fuller. The applicator is very small making it very easy to get to all the hairs. I agree that this is a very water-resistant, long-wearing, natural-looking and buildable product.

The catch is that this product is very expensive at £17.50 for 3g but it does last a while because you don't use very much product at once. You can buy it here.

Real Techniques Brushes Review

When it comes to brushes, I absolutely love the ones by Real Techniques. With lots of brushes to choose from, I found it really difficult to narrow it down to which I should buy. today I'm going to review them for you.

The first brushes I got was a set. It was the travel essentials set containing the Multi-task brush, Essential foundation brush and domed shadow brush. I love the set and for a first lot of brushes to purchase, I would recommend these. This set contains different kinds of brushes, all of which you can use for different things. I like to use the Multi-task brush for powder but you can also use it for blush and bronzer. I use the domed shadow brush for concealer but you can also use it for eyeshadow which is its intended use. I like the essential foundation brush for foundation but I love using it for concealer too.

The second lot of brushes I got was the Starter set and the Core Collection. In the core collection, there are 4 brushes: the pointed foundation brush, buffing brush, contour brush and detailer brush. I like the pointed foundation brush of highlighting. The buffing brush is a very popular brush and is great for buffing foundation into the skin. I use the contour brush for contouring but sometimes blush or concealer. The detailer brush is great for inner corner highlight and highlighting the cupids bow.

The starter set contains: the base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush, accent brush, fine liner brush and brow brush. The base shadow brush is my favourite eye brush. I use it for most of my eye makeup. The deluxe crease brush is quite a large brush for the eyes so its best to use it for base shadow or concealer. I like to use the accent brush for inner corner highlight and highlighting the brow bone. I use the fine liner brush for gel liner but I don't use this brush very often. Finally, I like to use the brow brush for the brows and lower lash line.

I then bought the blush brush. I like this for blush but also for bronzer.

Overall, I love these brushes and I look forward to buying more.
