2014 Goals

So its coming to the time when everyone begins to both reflect on the past year and think about their wishes and 'resolutions' for the next year. In todays blog post I'm going to reveal my goals for next year blog and beauty related and general life goals. I am also going to say at the end what my plans are in terms of my blog for next year. This is not a review, haul or beauty tutorial so if you follow me for that reason the feel free to click off this post now but I know that lots of you show a great interest in my life so for all of you, keep reading.

Goals for 2014:
Blog Goals:
1. Reach 3000 followers.
I know this is a big ask but seeing as I have gained 1000 in the past month, I thought it was a reasonable target.

2. Become peoples 'favourite blogger'.
This in itself would be a huge ask. I am so grateful to all of you and it would really make my day if one day I can earn the title of your 'favourite blogger'. I will work hard to achieve this title.

3. Improve my posts.
Obviously there is plenty of room for improvement and I would like to fill this space so that my blog is the best it can possibly be next year. Help me improve by answering the questions in my previous "Your Wishes" post.

4. Keep to my posting schedule.
You are all so kind to me that I really want to stick to my promises and post when I say I will. At the minute this is every Monday, Friday and Sunday. Whether that will change, I don't know.

5.  Make 'PinkCupcake' a well-known blog.
Despite having 1000 followers, my blog is definitely not a 'well-known' one. I would like for next year my blog to become a success and for people to have heard of it outside my group of followers. Spread the word!

Life Goals:
1. Always see a silver lining.
This was my 2013 resolution and it will be repeated every year because I think that it's important to remember the good things in your life and not focus on the bad. I will always strive to be a happier person.

2. Eat healthy and Drink lots of Water
I need to begin to eat 5 fruit and vegetables a day and a wider variety of foods and drink lots more water to stay healthy.

3. Be a 'fit' person.
By 'fit' I mean exercise a lot. I want to take up jogging again and stick to running every Sunday that I can.

4. Look after my skin.
I want to remember to cleanse and moisturise every day and night to maintain good skin.

5. Study hard.
With my GCSE exams coming up, I want to study hard and work for good grades at the end of the year.

6. Have fun!
Overall, my main goal for next year is to simply have fun. At my age, and at any age for that matter, we should all have fun.

Plans for my blog in 2014:
Next year I want to make my blog more personal. Since PinkCupcake7 is an anonymous blog, I thought I'd have to stick to simple reviews and tags but now I have realised that I can go a lot further with my blog, staying anonymous. Next year I am going to feature more lifestyle posts as well as sticking to my beauty-related posts. These may include things like "Whats in my bag?", "School essentials" and "Whats on my phone?" etc. Basically, I want to do a wider range of posts. I'm also hoping to do more tutorials and videos, I have really enjoyed both filming and editing videos so next year I am hoping to do more of that. Comment below how you feel about these minor changes to my blog in the upcoming year.

Thank you everyone for reading. I can only hope that all of these things come true. I'm grateful for everything I already have, I just think its important to set yourself goals.

What are your goals and hopes for next year?

My Christmas Presents

Hey guys,
I hope you all had a great christmas! I know I did! Today I thought I'd tell you some beauty products I got for Christmas. I'm not going to bore you with all the wonderful gifts I received because I don't want this to be a boring blog post as I am a beauty blogger, anyway, here are the beauty products I got for christmas.

Ok, so you all know what products I wanted for christmas if you've read my previous blog posts. I haven't yet received them all because my family often spend Christmas abroad seeing as we have a holiday home so these are the products I've gotten over seas. I'll let you know what other gifts I received when I return to the UK.

1. Britney Spears Perfume Kit
I have previously had the perfumes Midnight Fantasy, Fantasy and Curious by Britney Spears and they have all been some of my favourite perfumes so when I opened this present I was thrilled. It contains: Fantasy, Radiance and Curious (Radiance also smells amazing!) and it also has a small container things where you can place the small tube of perfume into it to travel with. It's like the little things where you pump the perfume into a small container except with this one you can swap it quicker. This was a great present.

2. One Direction One Moment Perfume.
So over the past year, I have joined all the Directioners out there in becoming obsessed with One Direction. I always liked them but this year I've watched their film (which started my obsession), bought their latest CD, concert Tickets, magazines, books.. everything. One Moment was on my christmas list simply because it was One Direction so when I received it and opened it, the first thing I did was smell it (obviously) and it smells amazing! I would actually buy it even if it wasn't One Direction, its one of my favourites and its all I've worn over the past few days.

3. Beauty Blender
This was a late add-on to my Beauty Christmas List because I've seen so many you tubers rave about them. They are a small sponge that you place in water and it grows, you then dampen it and use it to blend foundation or makeup in. It is really good and I didn't notice how big it grew! If you see in the group photo of my presents you'll see it in its small packaging before I put it in water and then below it's lots bigger and will not fit into the packaging.

4. Real Techniques Makeup Brushes
So I wanted some great makeup brushes for Christmas and I got some! These are great, I would definitely say better than Mac ones (my sister has Mac ones) and much cheaper. If you are deciding to purchase some good makeup brushes, I'd defineatly go with these, they're worth the money you pay for them. I only got the starter set (A multi-task brush which I use for blush/powder foundation, a foundation brush which I use for liquid foundation and concealer and an Eyeshadow brush.).

5. Maybelline Colour Sensation Lipsticks
I wanted a pink and red lipstick and I got them from this brand. I already have a purple one from this brand so I already knew they were great. They are so pigmented and the colour really does last. When I opened it on Christmas Day, I swatched them on my hand, now on the 27th baring in mind that I've washed 3 times since, they are still visible on the back of my hand. Obviously they've faded, but they're still visible. I have the colours 870 and 895.

 6. A Mac Eyeshadow Palette.
This is my first Mac product! Yay! I wanted an eyeshadow palette containing some gold and browns etc but didn't ask for Mac so when I opened this product i was so excited to try it! These eyeshadows are super pigmented, last so well and are so vivid, I love this present.

Thank you for reading! What did you get for Christmas?

Christmas Day Outfit

Hi everyone!
Christmas day is almost upon us! Yay! I love christmas but usually I have to say that when it comes to looks, I don't make an effort on christmas day. I'll not even have a shower so my hair will be greasy, no makeup and I won't get out of my pyjamas until lunch, even then I'll only have some joggers on. However this year, I wanted it to be different. I want to make a big effort and look nice on christmas so this is what I am going to wear.

So this is a burgundy dress with lace detail at the top. It has an underskirt making the bottom of the skirt come out. It is quite dressy however it is reusable and I will wear it again.

This is quite a comfy dress really and it fits very well. It has a zipper up the back from the waist upwards and a ribbon tie around the middle making it fit securely and look a lot nicer. This also makes it look a lot more slimming and shows off your waist more. You could probably pair this dress with a belt to show of your waist further and create a bigger slimming effect.

I probably won't wear shoes on the day because I won't be leaving the house but if I was attending a bigger occasion or a party or something, I would pair this dress with quite simple shoes. In the photo, I have some new black heels of mine from the Lauren Conrad range at Kohls, these were on sale so I took the opportunity. This dress would also look nice with nude shoes.

I purchased this dress at Dillards but I have previously seen a very similar one at JCPenny. I would say that this dress isn't the cheapest in the world but if you're wearing it again it will be worth it, it is very good quality. I also think it's worth mentioning that you should try this dress on before purchasing it as the sizes can be very inaccurate. For example, I'm usually a size 0 but this dress is a size 2-3 and I'm definitely not a 2-3. I'm so glad I tried it on otherwise I wouldn't have bought it!

Mini Beauty Haul

Hi everyone!

I've recently been on a small beauty haul, not to anywhere special just to tesco and I've purchased some great products so I decided to review them for you today.

So I purchased lots of makeup. The first product I bought was the Rimmel London Fix & Primer. This was a repurchase because I've used up my first bottle! I love this product so much. It feels like a moisturiser when you rub it into your skin and it makes your makeup last all day, I would definitely say that this is my favourite primer. Its so inexpensive too, its great.

My next item was the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer. This was a product that I have already purchased but lost so I have repurchased it. This is 100% my favourite under-eye concealer, I love the sponge applicator and I would definitely recommend it.

The next product is the Rimmel London True Match Perfection Foundation in the colour Classic Ivory. I have not yet used this item since purchasing it but I have borrowed someone else's not long ago and really liked it so I decided to buy myself one. I am hoping that this is going to be my favourite foundation because if you've read my previous blog posts, you'll know that I've been waiting to find a foundation I love. With the way it felt when I borrowed it, I'm sure it will.

I also bought another foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in the colour Vanilla. I also borrowed this foundation and paired it with Rimmel London True Match Perfection and loved the way my skin appeared so I just had to purchase this myself. The foundation feels very light on your skin which is the way I like it and gives quite a light-medium coverage. I also loved that it smelt like strawberries. I really enjoyed using this foundation.

The next product is the Bourjois Blush in the colour Rose 15. This is a much darker colour blush which is what I wanted for this winter season, it is also very autumnal so I will use it next year too. I already have a Bourjois Blush and I really like that so I thought it was safe to buy another from this brand.

Th final product I purchased was the Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer. I was reading Harrietjacksonx blog post not long ago and she said she liked these lip lacquers so I decided to try them out for myself. I have it in the colour Nova and I really like this product so far.

Overall, my haul was a big success and I can't wait to use these products in the future.

Dermalogica ClearStart Foaming Wash Review

Today I am going to review one of the products I received in my Miss Glossybox November/December box. If you would like to see some other products I received in my monthly beauty box, please read one of my previous posts.

I love trying out new cleansers so I was very pleased to receive this product. It smells very fruity and a lot like oranges imparticular. I don't like oranges, nor do I like the smell but it isn't very strong so it is tolerable. I found that you do have to apply plenty of water in your hands before squeezing out the cleanser otherwise it doesn't foam properly but it isn't a problem. What I didn't like about this product was that it is very difficult to wash off. I didn't find it a problem if I applied it in the shower under constant running water but if I attempted to cleanse using just the splashing of the face method, it was extremely difficult and I found myself often wiping remaining soap suds off with a towel. I also don't like the packaging very much because it doesn't allow you to squeeze much product out onto your hand. It is quite a stiff, hard bottle and so it doesn't move very easily. This is a major disadvantage for me.

This product does work well against acne but I still would probably prefer my Neutrogena 3-IN-1 Acne Cleanser. I am going to continue using this product until i have used it up but I probably would not repurchase it.

Thank you for reading!

Miss Glossybox Unboxing

Recently I have been interested in the monthly beauty boxes and decided to subscribe to one. I researched lots into it and finally chose to subscribe to miss Glossybox. I understand what a difficult decision it is to decide between all the boxes out there so I thought I'd review it today for you.

It's safe to say I was thrilled to receive my first Miss Glossybox and was equally as thrilled to discover the contents. I think its a great idea that when you subscribe to Miss Glossybox, you fill out a beauty profile informing the Miss Glossybox team your skin type, hair type, complexion and preferences. As this is a Miss Glossybox, I will only receive products suited to my age group (teenagers and young adults) targeting good skin and complexion. Most people think that Miss Glossybox is all about the makeup and isn't worth the £7 every 2 months however I strongly disagree. Miss Glossybox contains 5 small beauty products and totals more around the £40 mark than £7. Also, out of the 5 products I received, only 1 makeup product. Here are the products I received:

1.  The Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash, originally priced at £13.00.
I'm overjoyed with this product, not only because I have already got more than my moneys worth with just this one product but it is a full sized product by a very good brand. For anyone who is not familiar with the brand Dermalogica, it is a brand often used in salons and professional beauty. I have been using this product and it has hugely cleared my skin. It smells fruity and like oranges and foams in your hand. You use this product daily, morning and night and it is a fantastic cleanser.

2. So… sinful? originally priced at £1.49.
I have always loved the 'So…?' products and I am very pleased I received this deodorant. It is a travel sized body spray therefore fits very easily in bags and lockers etc. It smells great and I am delighted to have received it.

3. The Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeshadow/Liner originally priced at £10.50.
This eyeliner/eyeshadow is a nice gold colour and is obviously a great price considering its originally over £10.

4. Lacoste Touch of Pink, the full size priced at £38.50.
Previously, my sister has had this perfume and I loved the scent so I was so pleased I got a small sample in my Miss Glossybox. It smells amazing and is great to have some considering the full price is £38.50!

5. Little Mix Nail Wraps created by Elegant Touch (Jades nails) originally priced at £6.
I was so excited when I saw these nail wraps, they are so bright and colourful and have recently been looking at the Little Mix range. I'm especially pleased it was Jades nails as she is probably my favourite member. I'm extremely excited to use these and will write a review on them once I have.

Overall I'm very pleased with my first Miss Glossybox and am glad I chose this beauty box. I loved every single product and would definitely recommend subscribing. You get so much for your money and actually use the products given. I also like the fact that a free bag is included, it can be used as a makeup bag or to keep beauty products organised. I am very excited to receive my next Glossybox in January.

Thank you for reading, sorry this post is so long!

Rimmel London Products

I love trying new drugstore brands so when I first tried out Rimmel London, I was pleased with how much I loved it. I would say it is one of my favourite drugstore makeup brands.

The first Rimmel Product I'll be reviewing is the Fix and Perfect Primer. I purchased this because it was part of a deal whereby I got the Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation and a free mascara included in the price. I love this primer, it feels just like a moisturiser and is really easy to rub in. I also find that at the end of the day, my makeup looks exactly the same as when I put it on. I love this product.

The next Rimmel Product I'm going to review is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse Foundation. I purchased this product in the deal I told you about earlier and I love this foundation. it is one of my favourites. For more information about it, please see my 'Foundations Review' post.

The next product is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. This is my ultimate favourite loose powder. I think anyone would recommend this product. It is so inexpensive but effective. I will definitely repurchase this.

My next product is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer. I'm sure you'll of heard of this concealer, everyone raves about it but personally, I don't think its worth the hype. Don't get me wrong, its a good concealer but I think you can get better for your money.

My final Rimmel Products are the Kate Moss Lipsticks. I love these lipsticks. They hydrate and moisturise your lips while keeping them looking great. I have two in the colours 110 and 113 which are a bright, vivid coral and a subtle nude. The coral is fantastic, it doesn't smudge and looks great  however I am extremely disappointed with the nude colour. It clings to the chapped bits of your lips and just doesn't look nice at all. I regret buying this product. For colour swatches please check my other blog post 'Kate Moss Lipstick Review'.

Thank you for reading. Please comment below Rimmel Products that you would recommend me trying.

Kate Moss Lipstick Review

Hi everyone,
Today as you can see by the title, I am going to be reviewing the Kate Moss Lipsticks. I only have two shades but I feel that I know what the lipsticks are like now and hope to get more.

The two colours I have are: 110 and 113. The 110 lipstick is a much more bright, vibrant coral that is suitable for parties and nightlife rather than an everyday use. Personally I love this lipstick, its very pigmented and I love it. However the 113 colour is not as good. I think it clings to all of the chapped bits of your lips and the colour is not as nice as it looks off. On, it looks very washed out and makes you look peaky and makes your lips look really dehydrated and horrible. I regret purchasing this lipstick.

I really like the packaging of this product, I think its partly why the range is so popular. The red or black against Kate Moss' signature looks really effective and high-end. I also think the colours shown with the number is very close to the colour the lipsticks appear on. However, I wish these lipsticks had names as well as numbers as personally I just prefer it that way.

Overall, I really like this Kate Moss lipstick range by Rimmel London and look forward to purchasong many more.

Thanks for reading!

BabyLips by Maybelline Review

From Left to Right: Dr Rescue (Coral crave), Moisturising balm (Cherry Me), (Pink punch), (Peach Kiss)

Today I'm going to reviewing the BabyLips range by Maybelline. For me, this is a much loved range from a much loved brand, so I thought it would be the perfect thing to review.

I have purchased 4 of the BabyLips moisturising balms and I love them. I feel that they really do their job by repairing chapped lips and hydrating them throughout the day. "Our exclusive formula moisturizes lips for a full 8 hours. Lips renewed in 1 week." This is the description Maybelline give for their product and I agree. I think that this product does moisturize your lips very well, I'm not so sure about 8 hours though, I like to reapply my BabyLips throughout the day to keep my lips hydrated and to keep the colour fresh.

The 4 BabyLips lipbalms that I have are from 2 of the 3 ranges. Maybelline has released 3 ranges: the moisturizing balms (In the shades: Cherry me, Pink punch, Peach kiss, Grape vine, Peppermint and Quenched.), the Electro lip balms (In the shades: Pink shock, Fierce n tangy, Berry bomb, Oh! Orange!, Strike a pose and Minty sheer.) and the Dr Rescue lip balms (In the shades: Too cool, Pink me up, Soothing sorbet, Just peachy, Coral crave and Berry soft.)  I have 3 of the moisturizing balms and 1 of the Dr Rescues, unfortunately I have not yet purchased one of the Electro balms but it is on my christmas list! I have the colours Cherry Me, Pink punch and Peach kiss and I love all of them however, I find that Pink punch clings to the dry patches of your lips and therefore takes a lot of rubbing in and so for that reason it is my least favourite of the 3. I find that it is very unnatural looking and I prefer a subtle look on the lip for day-to-day. The Dr Rescue lip balm that I have is in the colour Coral crave and i love the colour, it is very sheer and subtle. I find that as this lipbalm is menthol to protect and soothe pain caused from ulcers, coldsores and general pain around the mouth, it has minty, fresh scent.

Overall I would highly recommend the BabyLips range from Maybelline and look forward to purchasing more.
