Nars Blush in Orgasm: Worth the hype?

Today I'm going to be talking about a very talked about product in the beauty world: Nars Blush in Orgasm.  This blush is raved about so much that when I received it in a beauty bag, I was excited to try it out for myself and ask myself 'Is is worth the hype?'

This blush is Nars' most popular shade and is used by many beauty lovers. It is a rosy pink shade with tiny gold glimmers in it. I thought that the gold flecks would make this more unwearable as I prefer natural blushes but it doesn't show as gold sparkles, it just gives you a 'lit from within' look.

This is a very pigmented blush and so a little goes a long way in terms of applying it. I do really like wearing it as it feels very fancy in its black iconic Nars packaging but personally, I don't see the major hype. Don't get me wrong, this is a great product but I think that there are lots of drugstore versions that compete very strongly with it.

I do love reaching in my collection for this Nars blush but for $30.00 I wouldn't repurchase it on its own. I got is as part of a set containing 6 Sephora products for just $39.00 so it was well worth the money on that front but I would not purchase it separately just for the fact that I think you could get a similar blush for a lot cheaper.

Disappointing Beauty Products of 2013

Hi everyone!
So the other day I did my favourite products of 2013 and obviously with favourites come disappointing products so today I thought I'd tell you about disappointing products I have bought and will not be repurchasing.

1. Tresemme Dry Shampoo
Ok, so I purchased this product simply looking for a solution to days when I don't want to wash my hair and it looks really greasy because I struggle with my hair. I have to wash it every day otherwise it looks disgustingly greasy and feels horrible. So anyway, I bought this product hoping to find a solution to this problem and I was thoroughly disappointed with this dry shampoo. I sprayed it on my hair as normal, brushed it through and did everything it said on the bottle and then when I looked in the mirror, my hair was grey! I had to wash it out immediately which completely defeated the object of the dry shampoo, I tried it again later only to find the same result so I threw it in the bin and will never buy it again.

2. Rimmel scandal eyes mascara
Ok, so you guys have heard me rant about this mascara from the day I got it. It is clumpy and horrible! The applicator is huge and very inconvenient, overall, its just a terrible mascara.

3. maybelline dream matte mousse
This mousse foundation is orange. I have it in the shade 'light' and if I put it on, even if I work it right into my skin, it looks orange, it really is a bad foundation.

4 maybelline dream bouncy blush
This product really appealed to me. The colours were so pretty and they had samples, now I see why, its their only selling point! These blushes feel spongey and 'bouncy' like it says in the name but they are not pigmented at all and you can't even see that you're wearing any.

5. Fructis Triple Nutrition
I've ranted about this product before. I bought it because it says that it is for the face, skin and hair. It is supposed to make everything look and feel healthy. Really it feels like oil when you put it on your skin and if you put it in you hair, it looks greasy and the strands separate to look like straw! It is nothing what they make it out to be and I really regret buying it.

6. Got 2 B Salt Infusion Spray
So another product that I was really excited to try was this salt infusion waving spray. I saw an advert for this and it really looked appealing not having to use heat. If you have ever seen the advert, the girls hair looks like 'mermaid' hair, perfectly crimped and looking great although when I tried it myself, this was the result:

This hair just looks like I haven't brushed it, not wavy at all. It also makes it feel salty, like you've been in the sea and not just washed your hair. Overall I was majorly disappointed with this product.

7. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I just don't think that this concealer is worth the hype. It really doesn't cover under eye circles, blemishes or discolouration so overall I was genuinely disappointed with this concealer.

Ok, sorry to rant so much but at least now you'll know not to buy these products!

Mini Beauty Haul

Hi everyone!

I've recently been on a small beauty haul, not to anywhere special just to tesco and I've purchased some great products so I decided to review them for you today.

So I purchased lots of makeup. The first product I bought was the Rimmel London Fix & Primer. This was a repurchase because I've used up my first bottle! I love this product so much. It feels like a moisturiser when you rub it into your skin and it makes your makeup last all day, I would definitely say that this is my favourite primer. Its so inexpensive too, its great.

My next item was the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer. This was a product that I have already purchased but lost so I have repurchased it. This is 100% my favourite under-eye concealer, I love the sponge applicator and I would definitely recommend it.

The next product is the Rimmel London True Match Perfection Foundation in the colour Classic Ivory. I have not yet used this item since purchasing it but I have borrowed someone else's not long ago and really liked it so I decided to buy myself one. I am hoping that this is going to be my favourite foundation because if you've read my previous blog posts, you'll know that I've been waiting to find a foundation I love. With the way it felt when I borrowed it, I'm sure it will.

I also bought another foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in the colour Vanilla. I also borrowed this foundation and paired it with Rimmel London True Match Perfection and loved the way my skin appeared so I just had to purchase this myself. The foundation feels very light on your skin which is the way I like it and gives quite a light-medium coverage. I also loved that it smelt like strawberries. I really enjoyed using this foundation.

The next product is the Bourjois Blush in the colour Rose 15. This is a much darker colour blush which is what I wanted for this winter season, it is also very autumnal so I will use it next year too. I already have a Bourjois Blush and I really like that so I thought it was safe to buy another from this brand.

Th final product I purchased was the Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer. I was reading Harrietjacksonx blog post not long ago and she said she liked these lip lacquers so I decided to try them out for myself. I have it in the colour Nova and I really like this product so far.

Overall, my haul was a big success and I can't wait to use these products in the future.

Dermalogica ClearStart Foaming Wash Review

Today I am going to review one of the products I received in my Miss Glossybox November/December box. If you would like to see some other products I received in my monthly beauty box, please read one of my previous posts.

I love trying out new cleansers so I was very pleased to receive this product. It smells very fruity and a lot like oranges imparticular. I don't like oranges, nor do I like the smell but it isn't very strong so it is tolerable. I found that you do have to apply plenty of water in your hands before squeezing out the cleanser otherwise it doesn't foam properly but it isn't a problem. What I didn't like about this product was that it is very difficult to wash off. I didn't find it a problem if I applied it in the shower under constant running water but if I attempted to cleanse using just the splashing of the face method, it was extremely difficult and I found myself often wiping remaining soap suds off with a towel. I also don't like the packaging very much because it doesn't allow you to squeeze much product out onto your hand. It is quite a stiff, hard bottle and so it doesn't move very easily. This is a major disadvantage for me.

This product does work well against acne but I still would probably prefer my Neutrogena 3-IN-1 Acne Cleanser. I am going to continue using this product until i have used it up but I probably would not repurchase it.

Thank you for reading!

Miss Glossybox Unboxing

Recently I have been interested in the monthly beauty boxes and decided to subscribe to one. I researched lots into it and finally chose to subscribe to miss Glossybox. I understand what a difficult decision it is to decide between all the boxes out there so I thought I'd review it today for you.

It's safe to say I was thrilled to receive my first Miss Glossybox and was equally as thrilled to discover the contents. I think its a great idea that when you subscribe to Miss Glossybox, you fill out a beauty profile informing the Miss Glossybox team your skin type, hair type, complexion and preferences. As this is a Miss Glossybox, I will only receive products suited to my age group (teenagers and young adults) targeting good skin and complexion. Most people think that Miss Glossybox is all about the makeup and isn't worth the £7 every 2 months however I strongly disagree. Miss Glossybox contains 5 small beauty products and totals more around the £40 mark than £7. Also, out of the 5 products I received, only 1 makeup product. Here are the products I received:

1.  The Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash, originally priced at £13.00.
I'm overjoyed with this product, not only because I have already got more than my moneys worth with just this one product but it is a full sized product by a very good brand. For anyone who is not familiar with the brand Dermalogica, it is a brand often used in salons and professional beauty. I have been using this product and it has hugely cleared my skin. It smells fruity and like oranges and foams in your hand. You use this product daily, morning and night and it is a fantastic cleanser.

2. So… sinful? originally priced at £1.49.
I have always loved the 'So…?' products and I am very pleased I received this deodorant. It is a travel sized body spray therefore fits very easily in bags and lockers etc. It smells great and I am delighted to have received it.

3. The Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeshadow/Liner originally priced at £10.50.
This eyeliner/eyeshadow is a nice gold colour and is obviously a great price considering its originally over £10.

4. Lacoste Touch of Pink, the full size priced at £38.50.
Previously, my sister has had this perfume and I loved the scent so I was so pleased I got a small sample in my Miss Glossybox. It smells amazing and is great to have some considering the full price is £38.50!

5. Little Mix Nail Wraps created by Elegant Touch (Jades nails) originally priced at £6.
I was so excited when I saw these nail wraps, they are so bright and colourful and have recently been looking at the Little Mix range. I'm especially pleased it was Jades nails as she is probably my favourite member. I'm extremely excited to use these and will write a review on them once I have.

Overall I'm very pleased with my first Miss Glossybox and am glad I chose this beauty box. I loved every single product and would definitely recommend subscribing. You get so much for your money and actually use the products given. I also like the fact that a free bag is included, it can be used as a makeup bag or to keep beauty products organised. I am very excited to receive my next Glossybox in January.

Thank you for reading, sorry this post is so long!

Rimmel London Products

I love trying new drugstore brands so when I first tried out Rimmel London, I was pleased with how much I loved it. I would say it is one of my favourite drugstore makeup brands.

The first Rimmel Product I'll be reviewing is the Fix and Perfect Primer. I purchased this because it was part of a deal whereby I got the Rimmel London Stay Matte Foundation and a free mascara included in the price. I love this primer, it feels just like a moisturiser and is really easy to rub in. I also find that at the end of the day, my makeup looks exactly the same as when I put it on. I love this product.

The next Rimmel Product I'm going to review is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse Foundation. I purchased this product in the deal I told you about earlier and I love this foundation. it is one of my favourites. For more information about it, please see my 'Foundations Review' post.

The next product is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. This is my ultimate favourite loose powder. I think anyone would recommend this product. It is so inexpensive but effective. I will definitely repurchase this.

My next product is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer. I'm sure you'll of heard of this concealer, everyone raves about it but personally, I don't think its worth the hype. Don't get me wrong, its a good concealer but I think you can get better for your money.

My final Rimmel Products are the Kate Moss Lipsticks. I love these lipsticks. They hydrate and moisturise your lips while keeping them looking great. I have two in the colours 110 and 113 which are a bright, vivid coral and a subtle nude. The coral is fantastic, it doesn't smudge and looks great  however I am extremely disappointed with the nude colour. It clings to the chapped bits of your lips and just doesn't look nice at all. I regret buying this product. For colour swatches please check my other blog post 'Kate Moss Lipstick Review'.

Thank you for reading. Please comment below Rimmel Products that you would recommend me trying.

Kate Moss Lipstick Review

Hi everyone,
Today as you can see by the title, I am going to be reviewing the Kate Moss Lipsticks. I only have two shades but I feel that I know what the lipsticks are like now and hope to get more.

The two colours I have are: 110 and 113. The 110 lipstick is a much more bright, vibrant coral that is suitable for parties and nightlife rather than an everyday use. Personally I love this lipstick, its very pigmented and I love it. However the 113 colour is not as good. I think it clings to all of the chapped bits of your lips and the colour is not as nice as it looks off. On, it looks very washed out and makes you look peaky and makes your lips look really dehydrated and horrible. I regret purchasing this lipstick.

I really like the packaging of this product, I think its partly why the range is so popular. The red or black against Kate Moss' signature looks really effective and high-end. I also think the colours shown with the number is very close to the colour the lipsticks appear on. However, I wish these lipsticks had names as well as numbers as personally I just prefer it that way.

Overall, I really like this Kate Moss lipstick range by Rimmel London and look forward to purchasong many more.

Thanks for reading!

BabyLips by Maybelline Review

From Left to Right: Dr Rescue (Coral crave), Moisturising balm (Cherry Me), (Pink punch), (Peach Kiss)

Today I'm going to reviewing the BabyLips range by Maybelline. For me, this is a much loved range from a much loved brand, so I thought it would be the perfect thing to review.

I have purchased 4 of the BabyLips moisturising balms and I love them. I feel that they really do their job by repairing chapped lips and hydrating them throughout the day. "Our exclusive formula moisturizes lips for a full 8 hours. Lips renewed in 1 week." This is the description Maybelline give for their product and I agree. I think that this product does moisturize your lips very well, I'm not so sure about 8 hours though, I like to reapply my BabyLips throughout the day to keep my lips hydrated and to keep the colour fresh.

The 4 BabyLips lipbalms that I have are from 2 of the 3 ranges. Maybelline has released 3 ranges: the moisturizing balms (In the shades: Cherry me, Pink punch, Peach kiss, Grape vine, Peppermint and Quenched.), the Electro lip balms (In the shades: Pink shock, Fierce n tangy, Berry bomb, Oh! Orange!, Strike a pose and Minty sheer.) and the Dr Rescue lip balms (In the shades: Too cool, Pink me up, Soothing sorbet, Just peachy, Coral crave and Berry soft.)  I have 3 of the moisturizing balms and 1 of the Dr Rescues, unfortunately I have not yet purchased one of the Electro balms but it is on my christmas list! I have the colours Cherry Me, Pink punch and Peach kiss and I love all of them however, I find that Pink punch clings to the dry patches of your lips and therefore takes a lot of rubbing in and so for that reason it is my least favourite of the 3. I find that it is very unnatural looking and I prefer a subtle look on the lip for day-to-day. The Dr Rescue lip balm that I have is in the colour Coral crave and i love the colour, it is very sheer and subtle. I find that as this lipbalm is menthol to protect and soothe pain caused from ulcers, coldsores and general pain around the mouth, it has minty, fresh scent.

Overall I would highly recommend the BabyLips range from Maybelline and look forward to purchasing more.
