Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Review

Hey guys,

So a while ago, I purchased the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in number 1 Fair. You have probably heard about this concealer before because in the blogging and youtube world, this concealer gets a lot of attention. I could tell how popular it was by my several attempts to buy it, it as sold out I multiple places. I eventually managed to buy it and have been using it for a good few months now so that I can really get a feel for it.

I have heard multiple opinions on this concealer. It gets a lot of hype from youtubers claiming that its as good as a high-end concealer for just £4.19. However, I have also heard my close friends  talk about it and they don't rate it, saying that it can cause breakouts and doesn't give great coverage.

This concealer is extremely creamy and very pink-toned. This makes it a great concealer for under the eyes as it cancels out the blue tones under the eye. In fact, it is my favourite concealer for under the eyes. I also think its a great concealer for blemishes and redness. It blends extremely well as it has a very creamy consistency. Overall, I am very impressed with this concealer, it is my favourite.

As far as I know, Collection or Collection 2000 is a European brand so I'm not sure if you can purchase it in the US but you can purchase it from the Uk here.

Guide to Healthy Skin with Drugstore Products

Hi everyone,
Recently I've been loving my skincare routine. My skin wasn't great for a while so I went to the drugstore to buy skincare products and thought I'd review them for you. This is a relatively cheap and easy skincare routine that I use every day and night regardless of whether my skin is good or not at that time. I researched a lot into skincare routines and all of the ones I found were very expensive and time-consuming when you can get a much easier one. Anyway, this is the one I found and it works just as well, is much less time-consuming and a lot more inexpensive. All of the products talked about can be purchased in drugstores.

Firstly, I use this Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control cleanser, it is my favourite cleanser and trust me, I've tried a lot of cleansers. I really work it into my skin, especially those places where I may have more acne and then wash it off thoroughly.

Then when I'm on holiday, I use my Simple Protecting Light Moisturiser which I like because it has SPF so you don't need to worry about suncreams and can be assured that it will protect your face from the sun. Otherwise, I use my L'Oreal Skin Perfection Moisturiser.

Now that my face is clean, I use my All-in-1 Acne Control. An alternative that i use is the Decleor Spot Treatment but that isn't as cheap. I rub a very light coat over any blemishes I may have and any areas where I usually get them because what I like about this spot treatment is that it prevents future spots. This is a miracle worker, honestly, I had a huge spot in the centre of my forehead and within 2 days, it had completely vanished thanks to this routine.

I only use that once a day because if you use it too often, it can cause dryness, during the meantime I like to use this Skin Clear Blemsish Corrector by boots. I bought this a while ago and it was extremely inexpensive. I didn't really think it would work for the money I paid for it and when I opened it I realised that really all it is is tea tree oil. Despite this, it works very well especially with the other products in this skincare routine.

This is my daily skincare routine but I would also recommend using Freeman Face Masks especially the peel-off one because i find that on bad skin days, those things work wonders.

I'm really happy with my skin now thanks to my skincare routine and I couldn't recommend it enough. I find that really, I would rather have a great skincare routine than makeup routine because having good skin can make you have so much confidence and I've found that now that I've found a great skincare routine, its saved me lots of money in the long run because I don't use as much makeup now because I really don't feel I need as much. I would definitely try and recommend perfecting your skin routine before purchasing lots of makeup to cover up blemishes because it can save you a lot of money.

If you try this routine, let me know how it works for you! Email me at pinkcupcake7blog@yahoo.com or comment below. Thank you for reading.

One Tree Hill Tag (OTH #1)

So One Tree Hill is one of my favourite programmes and I created this tag because I wanted to answer some questions about it so here goes. I tag all of you to do this if you love One Tree Hill too.

1. Who is/was your favourite couple?
I've always loved Naley (Nathan and Haley) so I'd probably go with them.

2. Did you prefer it when it was Lucas and Peyton (seasons 1-6) or Clay and Quinn (seasons 7-9)?
I love both for different reasons but I'd probably go with the original Lucas and Peyton.

3. Who is your favourite character?
I really like all of them but favourites would probably be Haley and maybe Julian.

4. What was your favourite season?
Hmm… I loved season 4 because there was a lot that happened in that season so probably that.

5. Which character do you relate to the most?
Haley, definitely.

6. Who is your least favourite character?
If it was out of the main characters, I never really liked Peyton that much but if it was everybody, I didn't really like Mia that much.

7. Who is your crush on the show?
I'm really not sure, they're all great!

8. Who's style do you like the most?
Quinns, I always love her outfits.

9. What is your favourite episode?
I like the end one and all the wedding episodes as well as the hurricane/storm one in season 8 I think it is.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this tag.

My Photography #1

Hey everyone,
My best friend harrietjacksonx  has done a photography series whereby she shows you all her photographs that aren't beauty based. Those posts are really popular for her so I thought that I would also do a series like that as I really enjoy taking photographs too. All the photos that I have taken are taken with my Nikon D3200. I think I may start posting the photography series on Tuesdays so long as I have enough photographs to show you. If you want me to do more of these then please comment below, I'd hate to keep posting things that you all hate!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balms Review

Hey guys!
So for a while I've been wanting one of these crayon type lipsticks and my Mum bought one for me when she was out shopping. She got me the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm so today I'm going to be reviewing them.

So these lip crayons are extremely creamy, hydrating and moisturising as well as being super pigmented and I love that about them. They have the consistency of a lip balm but the colour is very vivid which is great. The fact that the crayon is pointed at the end is great too because it makes for an easy application. Also, the bottom of the crayon is twistable so once it runs out you can keep twisting it to get more product which is great. They also last all day which is a major plus for me.

These crayons both taste and smell delicious, a lot like cupcakes and vanilla. They are my favourite scented makeup that I have got, I love that about them.

With Flash

Without Flash
What it claims:
1. Lightweight long lasting intense colour and moisture
2. Intensely smooth lasting balm that is comfortable to wear all day
3. Colour rush for hours in 7 high voltage shades.

4. Dermatological tested

I think this product is very lightweight and does last and has intense colour so I agree with this.

I have two colours: a pink which is called 100 Give Me A Cuddle and a darker red colour called 120 All You Need Is Pink however these are available in 10 shades, mostly pink toned. The colour selection is good and I really like the fact that each balm has a number and a name to make them easier to find. The colour can be sheer with just one swipe but you can build it up to be more vivid.

These lip balms are available in most places that sell makeup as they are just Rimmel. They cost £5.99 in the UK which I think is a reasonable price as they do last a long time and are a great product.

What causes my acne?

Hey guys,
So today, I'm doing a slightly different post. I'm going to educate you on what causes acne, blackheads and all skin imperfections. I think that making your skin as good as it possibly can be is something everyone strives for and I'm in no means saying that this will cure your skin imperfections but I'm just going to tell you what causes these things so that you can know how to prevent them. After all, if you have great skin you won't need to spend as much money on makeup!

What are spots?
Spots are little raised bumps on the surface of your skin. They may become red or even cause a white-head because of the build-up of pus beneath the surface.

What causes spots?
Spots are mainly related to a lot of oil on your skin. The sebaceous glands are attached to the pores of your skin and they create oily sebum to protect your skin and keep it hydrated. The main problem is with hormones because they cause your body's sebaceous glands to produce too much sebum which gets trapped in your pores with dead-skin cells. This is what forms a spot.

Spots can also occur from:
  • Touching your skin often
  • Dirty makeup brushes
  • Wearing makeup often
  • Not washing or cleansing your face regularly
Solutions:
By washing your face often with a soap or cleanser, your skin can instantly appear much clearer. Also limiting the amount of makeup you put on your skin can help prevent skin imperfections. Let your skin breathe as often as you can and wear a limited amount of makeup if its necessary at all. Another vital thing is to avoid squeezing spots when they appear. I know its extremely tempting but by doing this, it can make the spot infected and get worse and this is the main reason you get acne scars. Also avoid touching your skin and clean your makeup brushes very often. Also change your pillowcases often as the bacteria can collect on your cases and then when you rest your face on them, it may cause breakouts.

What if I wear makeup everyday?
So if you read my blog regularly, chances are you love makeup as much as I do and love to wear it and experiment. As I've already stated, wearing makeup can cause acne but for those of you who don't want to go without, there are things you can still do to reduce acne. Firstly, using oil-free makeup stops from clogging the pores so prevents acne. I would highly recommend looking at makeup from the body shop because it is especially for healthy skin. They sell oil-free products and my personal favourite, a tea-tree oil concealer that treats your skin whilst covering your blemishes. Another vital thing when wearing makeup is to take it off at night! I know this seems pretty obvious but I can't stress to you enough how important it is to thoroughly remove all traces of makeup before bed.

I hope this helped you and if you'd like me to do more posts like this, please comment below.

DIY Gift Idea #1

Hey guys,

I have decided to start a small series on gift ideas. I'm not sure how often I'll do these posts but I am starting to get more into the idea of personalising my presents. Let me know if you like these posts and I'll be sure to do more.

So my older sisters birthday is coming up and she always gets me great presents but this year, I really wanted to think more about the perfect present rather than spending my money on clothes or something like that for her. I wanted my present to be more personal so heres what I got her.

Firstly, I got a mason jar from Walmart for around $8. I got quite a large one because I'm going to be filling it with lots of gifts. The one I got her has a handle and a straw. Ideally, it wouldn't have but it was the only larger one I could get. Then to the mason jar, I did some DIY to it to make it look nicer and more present like. In the picture it is not like that thought because I hadn't done it yet. I kept in mind the colours of her room because I thought that she may want to use it for cute storage in her room rather than as a drinking cup. For more detail on how I did it like this, see my DIY on it which I'll link here.

Then I went to Walmart for small gifts to fill it with. I wanted the gifts to be quite thought out so I knew she'd like them but these small things are presents that I'm sure most people will love. I bought some Ice Breakers because I'm English and they are not available in England and I know she'll like them. I also got another Eos for her. Previously, I've got her the strawberry sorbet one which I know she loves so I got her another one in Sweet Mint. I also picked her up a red lipstick from Maybelline and a lip liner to go with it because she has really wanted a red lipstick and always borrows mine. I also got her a coconut face mask because she loves coconut and also a Burts Bees Lipbalm in Coconut and Pear.

As for from other shops, I also got her a Bath and Body Works Coconut Hand Sanitizer and the Twilight Woods body mist as well as a Mac eyeshadow palette in Smokeluxe because she loves Mac but has too many other things to spend her money on. I also got her the Popcorn lip scrub from Lush.

I really hope she loves her gift and I'm sure she will. I think this is a really cute, personal gift and I know that I'd love to receive it. I also like the fact that it is full of little things because I personally like to get lots of little things rather than one big thing. If you try out this gift idea, let me know what you put in your mason jar and if the person likes it. I'm sure they will!

Large Shopping Haul

Hey guys,
First off, I just wanted to apologise for how bad my photos have been recently, I'm currently on holiday so have not got a great background but it will be back to normal soon.

So the other day, I went to Florida Mall and I had lots of money saved up so I bought a lot of products. Here's what I got.

Firstly, I went into Mac. I have never actually bought anything from Mac so I was extremely excited. I picked up the eyebrow pencil in Lingering for my sister as she needed a new one and asked me to get it. I also picked up a Mac eyeshadow palette in Smokeluxe to give to my sister on her birthday. For myself, I got a lipstick in the colour Syrup which is a really natural pink colour.

Then I went into The Body Shop and I didn't buy all that much. I only got a small tea tree oil cleanser because I am a huge fan of tea tree oil and it real helps to clear my skin.

The next shop I went in was Lush. I bought the Popcorn Lip Scrub for my sister but nothing for myself.

From Aeropostale, I purchased three tops. I got two from the Bethany Mota Collection and one other one. Due to the amount I spent, I got a free pair of sunglasses.

In American Eagle, I only got one top which was a grey one that reads I <3 NY.

In PacSun, I got a coral top with a patterned black and white pocket and a grey top with lace back from the Kendall and Kylie Collection.

Finally, I went to Bath and Body Works. The day that I went, the large signature body mists were only $5 instead of the usual $14 so I got myself another Japanese Cherry Blossom scent which is my personal favourite and I also got it in Warm Vanilla Sugar for my younger sister and Twilight Woods for my older sister. I also got two hand sanitizers in Japanese Cherry Blossom and Warm Vanilla Sugar as well as a hand cream in Warm Vanilla Sugar.

I hope you enjoyed this haul!

Rimmel Foundations Comparisons/Review

So you all know that I'm not much of a foundation person, I buy so many to try out but can never find one that I absolutely love. I have combination skin which is part of the problem, it means that I need to find a foundation that doesn't make my face look too oily but also one that doesn't cling to the dry patches on my skin. I have tried three different Rimmel foundations and I'm going to review them for you today. Click on the product names for links to the website.

Firstly I bought the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. I love the Stay Matte Powder so much so I thought that I would try the Foundation and I tend to like mousse foundations because they don't feel to cakey but don't look too oily on my skin. The problem is that this foundation can look very cakey and feels quite heavy on the skin which is something that I personally don't like. It gives good coverage and is a good consistency, I just don't like the way it looks on my skin. The packaging is good though, it is in a squeeze tube so you can get just the amount of product you want.

What it claims:
  • A Feather-light, liquid mousse that blends flawlessly for natural-looking and an all day shine control Silky smooth formula for a perfectly matte, baby-soft finish.
  • Lightweight texture won’t feel heavy or greasy.
  • Minimises the appearance of pores

I do think it is a very matte foundation but I'm not sure about it being lightweight or natural looking. It does minimise the appearance of pores though.

This foundation is available in 5 shades but they are mostly paler shades: Light Ivory, Ivory, Soft Beige, Sand and Natural Beige so there are no darker colours which might be a problem for some people. I like the lighter colours of this foundation though, I have it in Ivory and it is a good colour and isn't too orange toned like some foundations are. This foundation retails at £5.99 which is a reasonable price for a foundation but I would personally not buy it again.

The second foundation is the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation. This is a very dewy foundation and is good for most skin types. This foundation gets a lot of attention on the internet and is Rimmels most popular foundation and I do like it too. It is probably in my top 3 foundations that I have found so I would repurchase it.

What it claims:
  • A match so perfect, it's undetectable in any light!
  • Light perfecting radiance foundation.
  • Traceless coverage for perfectly flawless skin under any light.
  • Lasts all day. SPF 18

I do find that it does look quite flawless on the skin as it does give great coverage and it is very unnoticeable and natural but you can still tell you have foundation on. It does last all day and makes your face look very radiant especially since it has an SPF 18 which is great too.

This foundation is available in 11 shades and unlike the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation, it caters for all skin colours. Available in: Light Porcelain, Ivory, Classic Ivory, Light Nude, True Ivory, Soft Beige, Classic Beige, True Nude, Warm Honey, Natural Beige and Bronze which is great because it has all different skin undertones. Some of these colours are extremely yellow toned and some are pink toned, it caters for all skin colours. It retails at £6.99 so slightly more expensive than the Stay Matte Liquid Mousse but in my opinion, it is a much better foundation and is still quite cheap for a very good product.

The third foundation is the Rimmel 9-in-1 BB Cream. This product is much more natural with it being a BB cream which I like however it doesn't give as much coverage because it is a beauty balm. I don't mind because I wear concealer anyway but this may be a disadvantage to some people. You can get this in a matte version as well but I wanted a foundation that would make my skin look more radiant and dewy.

What it claims:

"Rimmel's 1st 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup 9 in 1 results: Primes, moisturises, minimises pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens, and helps protect. Lightweight, ultra comfortable formula instantly gives a flawless, 100% natural finish. SPF 25."

This foundation does last a long time so I would say that it primes. It is very moisturising and does smooth and brighten the skin but I'm not so sure about covering, concealing, minimising pores, mattifying or protecting. It is also very lightweight and comfortable too and has an SPF 25 which is great.

This foundation is only available in two different shades which isn't great. It is available in Light and Medium so anybody with a darker skin tone might struggle with this product. It retails at £6.99 like the Match Perfection.

Room Ideas

Hi guys,
Recently, I've changed into a different room and so I've been busy decorating and refurnishing and I thought I'd let you know some of the ideas I've had for my room. Since you're room is the only thing thats yours in a house, I think its important to decorate it how  you like it and for the room to reflect your personality.

So I bought these sticky, mirrored music notes for the wall of my room. I decided not to have a main feature wall in my room, instead I've added lots of photos and pictures. I have these music notes in my doorway leading up to my CD's which just happens to be opposite the window, I find that when I walk into my room, the music notes are reflected all over my carpet and walls because they're mirrored, I personally love this effect. I bought these at Kohls and like I said, they are just sticky and single so you can stick them anywhere which I love.

I love quotes, you've probably seen from my quotes book and so I really wanted to show this throughout my bedroom. I found these sticky black quotes at Kohls. I only bought 2 of the several phrases but there are a lot more to choose from. Since like I said, my walls are plain, I wanted to add these quotes. I really love the way they looks on my wall and they go with my colour scheme or teal,  black and white. These bring so many compliments, all my friends and family love them and they really reflect me I feel.

I also got this picture with a quote on it too.

These are just some of the things I have in my room, but I hope you like them!

Outfit of The Day #2

Just another quick outfit of the day today although I'm actually cheating, I wore this a few days ago but already had posted that day.. sorry! This is quite a simple outfit that I wear very often when going out for a meal or something slightly more dressy.

I wore some dark jeans with brown stitching from Abercrombie and a white vest top from Aeropostale with a floaty, sheer white top from Abercrombie on top. I paired this with a black blazer from Charlotte Russe and some black ballet pumps from New Look.

Sorry that this is such a short post and that the shops are a mixture between English and American stores.

DIY: Lipstick Holder

As my lipstick collection is growing and I would like to re-sort out my makeup storage so I decided I wanted to have all my lipsticks on display by storing them in a lipstick holder. After researching lipstick holders I realised that they cost a lot of money for something that was just a piece of plastic. I watched a youtube video on how to make one yourself and thats what I am going to show you today.

Things you'll need:
Glue gun or double sided tape
7 day Pill organiser (I got mine for a dollar from Dollar Tree)
Scissors

Instructions:
1. Take your pill organiser and snap off the lid to each of the days and throw them in bin. Be careful not to snap the plastics though. I accidentally snapped a few of the boxes.

2. Now take all of the pill boxes out of the big box and line it with double sided tape or glue.

3. Now secure your boxes in the big box.

4. This is optional but you could cut off the lid of the box.

Now you have your lipstick holder! I think this is a really inexpensive way to store your lipsticks instead of spending a lot of money on something that is exactly the same!
