Today I'm going to be sharing my cookie recipe with you. I like to make these on Sundays as a mid-morning snack so I thought I'd tell you today how I make them! Let me know below if you like this type of post and I can do more of these baking or cooking posts. Also, email me at pinkcupcake7blog@yahoo.com what posts you'd like to see in the future.
This recipe makes roughly 20 cookies depending on how big you make them.
Ingredients:
- 1 Egg
- 2oz/ 50g Caster Sugar
- 6oz/350g Plain Flour
- 4oz/300g Softened Butter or Margarine
- 3oz/75g Brown Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Bicarbonate Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- 4oz Chocolate/Chocolate Chips (Dark, Milk or Light)
Materials:
- Kitchen Roll or Greaseproof paper
- Large Bowl
- 2 Small bowls
- 3 Baking Trays
- Cooling Rack
- Measuring spoons
- Teaspoons
- Large Serving Spoon
- Whisk
- Wooden Spoon
- Cup
1. Preheat your oven to 180c/ 350f. Now in a your biggest bowl, add the butter or margarine, caster sugar and brown sugar.
2. Beat them all together until the mixture is fully mixed together.
3. Now in another bowl, measure out your flour and add it to the large bowl. Also add the bicarb or soda, vanilla essence and salt into the big bowl.
4. Mix it all together, slowly adding an egg that you have whisked in with it, this will make it easier to mix.
5. Once you have mixed all of this together, add the chocolate chips or break the chocolate and add that. It doesn't matter what kind of chocolate, its your personal preference. I've chosen to add milk chocolate.
6. Mix the chocolate chips in and make sure that the mixture is completely mixed together.
7. Now take your trays and either cover them with greaseproof paper, oil them or rub butter on them. This will stop the cookies from sticking to the tray. I greased them with kitchen roll and the margarine I used previously.
8. Then use your teaspoons to scoop the cookie mixture onto the tray. Don't make them too big because they will get larger in the oven, bare that in mind and put them evenly spread apart on the tray too so that they don't all merge into one in the oven. If they do, just use a knife to cut them apart, they'll still taste the same.
9. Now put them in the oven for around 10 minutes or bake them until golden. I like to check them regularly to make sure they don't burn and I can control how they are. Before taking them out the oven, check if they are still doughy in the middle.
10. Now using a spatular or knife, put them on the cooling rack and leave them to cool down. Now you should have some cookies! These may not always turn out looking great depending on how you put them on your tray but don't throw them in the bin, they taste delicious!
I hope you liked this post, its a bit different from my usual ones. Let me know if you did like it and I'lll do more!
